ADELE is worth an estimated £60million but she still shops at Argos.
The entire world loves Adele. She’s not only a super-star, but a model for young woman the world over as well.
Most of us have the concept that stars who shine as brightly as Adele live in a parallel universe very unlike the drab daily routine of the world in which we dwell.
But perhaps, when all’s said and done, Adele’s connection with her adoring public goes deeper than most would ever imagine.
Only a few years ago, Adele could pop down to her Tottenham store to pick up a few items, but no longer.
We’ve all heard of upscale stores closing entirely for the exclusive visit of a celebrity. The celebrity has the run of the entire store with fear of being interrupted by adoring fans, or stared at by on-lookers. Adele may have done that too. We don’t know. We hear about such things about celebrities and shrug. That’s life.
However now comes the truth. No, it’s not bad. Adele has a secret that her fans, up until now, never dreamed she might have.
This fabulous £60 million star is a massive fan of shopping catalogues! More specifically, she loves shopping at Argos.
In the past of course, the computer played a huge part in her daily life, as it does with so many of us. Online catalogues abound and it’s easy to order on line as well. But since her throat surgery, Adele has developed a phobia of computers because of the possibility of catching bugs.
That’s right. Although with her fortune and prestige, Adele can take over any shop in the world and buy enormous diamonds or slinky silks without ever having to consult her chequebook, she enjoys sitting in the comfort of her own home and leafing through retail pay monthly catalogues.
As a tie-in with her cover shoot for Vogue magazine, the March US edition, Adele, accompanied by one of the magazine’s writers, pointed out the High Street Argos and pointed out that formerly she bought her jewelry there.
She wanted, in particular to have a necklace that read Mum. But Adele went on to explain that, since her surgery, she’s become a walking germaphobe. As she pointed out, the tiniest hint of a sore throat prohibits her from singing. An at the moment, her worst nightmare is to touch a computer screen.
Looks as if Adele will be able to afford to have her own chain of Argos stores following this latest world tour. The tour begins in Belfast this month.
With a multitude of BRIT and Grammy awards appeared to be quite relaxed as she faced the upcoming gigs and in Los Angeles after a warm-up show, was seen waving through a window.
Adele laughed and thoroughly enjoyed the attention but did have to beg fans to quiet down to keep them from waking her toddler, little Angelo. She expected to take him with her on tour, affirming that now he’s a top priority in her life.
“I hate to sound a bore but right now Angelo keeps me young and makes me feel like a kid again. I love it,” she said. She went on to say she hasn’t done anything purely for herself for a while, but she doesn’t mind that at all.
All her fans can say is, “Well, go wild Love and treat yourself to a new bit Argos jewelry!
